Groundbreaking legislation continued, and in 1974, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) finally allowed women to apply for mortgages without needing a male co-signer.
Fast forward to today, and single women are outpacing single men in homeownership - they now make up 19% OF ALL HOME BUYERS!
